What Octane Gasoline is good for Nissan Rogue 2009? How is Costco gas?

Posted by admin
costco
Kash asked:

The manual says recommended Octane is 87, but with that the engine performance does not seem to be so good. Should I go for 91 Octane ?

Also how is the quality of gas supplied by Costco?

Higher octane will not increase the performance of your engine at all. It also won’t make it smoother or last longer. Just use 87 octane.

Costco’s gasoline is, well, just average. After my family got the Costco membership all our cars have been using the Costco gasoline and it is nothing less or more than what we expected.

if the manufacturer tells you to use 87, use 87. using the other octane will just be a waste of money because it wont improve your performance. costco gas should be fine.

    3. Mark F Says:

If the recommended octane is 87 then you will gain absolutely nothing by using 91. The engine can not use the extra octane and it is just a waste of money. Any performance gain you think you are getting is probably all in your head. The guys who designed and built the thing and spent millions of miles testing it usually have a pretty fair idea of what it needs. 87 is fine.

As for Costco gas, they get it from the same trucks as most independent gas stations.
